How a $6 product transformed this kitchen

Amazon HBlife Bamboo Storage Holder: https://a.co/d/fqltZ7W

A $6 bamboo rack was the key to this entire kitchen’s organization. The homeowner had exactly 3 lids, so that’s how many we wanted to fit. No more, no less. Finding the right product means making the most out of your space.

See below to find out how the lid rack created a domino effect for the rest of our storage fixes.

  1. It all began with a rack…

We relocated the pot lids to a shelf rack, freeing up the door to install a pegboard., Mounting all those previous “junk drawer” items provides an accessible utility spot!

Before: lids on the door

After: lids on shelf, stationary on door

2. From junk drawers to kids’ station

With the junk drawers emptied, we were able to move the kids’ stuff down lower. Organized and fostering independence.

Before: classic ‘junk drawers’

After: kids’ station

3. Consolidating dinnerware

By relocating the kids’ water bottles and a few other items, the dishes and bowls could join the glassware. The contents of two cabinets were able to be consolidated into just one.

Before: A hodge-podge of contents

After: Cohesive dinnerware cabinet

4. A dedicated “flavor” station

Now we found ourselves with an entirely empty cabinet! Being right next to the stove, this home cook decided it was the perfect place to store all her spices, oils, and sauces. Previously scattered and haphazardly shoved onto shelves, her seasonings are now grouped and easy to grab.

Before: Dishes and bowls

After: Seasonings and spices

And to think, this is just the start of how we transformed this kitchen. Similar “organizing magic” (a.k.a. thoughtful and purposeful planning) was worked on the lower cabinets.
